What does Montessori on 1st Offer
WELCOME
Welcome to Montessori on 1st. This handbook provides important information to help parents understand how our school operates, our expectations, and how we work together to support your child’s growth, independence, and wellbeing.
Our Montessori Approach
Montessori is a child-centred educational approach that supports independence, concentration, and a lifelong love of learning.
WE FOCUS ON:
• Hands-on learning experiences
• Building independence and self-confidence
• Developing concentration and problem-solving skills
• Supporting emotional and social growth
• Creating a calm and respectful environment
Curriculum & Learning Themes
Our yearly curriculum is built around fun, alphabet-based weekly themes that keep learning engaging and meaningful.
Through these themes, children are introduced to a wide range of activities that support their overall development, including:

  • Language and early literacy
  • Practical life skills
  • Sensory exploration
  • Creative art and music
  • Gross and fine motor development
  • Social and emotional learning
All activities are adapted to each age group and stage of development, so every child is supported and gently challenged at their own pace.
BABY PROGRAMME (3–18 Months)
Nido Environment
At Montessori on 1st, our baby programme is carefully designed to provide a calm, nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment where each child is supported as an individual. Unlike traditional classroom routines, our Nido environment follows a gentle daily rhythm rather than a strict timetable. This allows us to respect each baby’s natural sleep patterns, feeding needs, and developmental stages while providing consistency and security throughout the day.
OUR TRAINED TEAM OFFERS:
  • Individualized care and attention
  • Responsive feeding and sleep routines
  • Sensory-rich Montessori materials
  • Freedom of movement in a safe environment
  • Language development through connection and interaction

The focus is on building independence, confidence and trust during the most important early stages of development.
