For more than 20 years, Montessori on 1st has provided a safe, caring and inspiring environment where children are encouraged to learn, explore and grow with confidence.
We welcome children from 3 months to Grade R, offering a Montessori-inspired education that nurtures each child's natural curiosity while building the skills and confidence needed for future success. Our Grade R programme also incorporates the CAPS curriculum to ensure children are well prepared for the transition to primary school.
As the Owner and Principal, I am passionate about creating a school where every child feels valued, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. Together with our dedicated team, we believe that every child learns differently, and we strive to provide an environment where children can develop academically, socially and emotionally at their own pace.

Our Programmes
At Montessori on 1st, our carefully structured environments and daily routines are designed to support each child's developmental milestones from infancy through to primary school readiness.
Infant & Toddler Environment (3 Months to 18 Months)
A warm, secure, and nurturing space designed for our youngest learners. We focus on building trust, encouraging sensory exploration, and supporting early motor development at each baby's individual pace.
Toddler / Pre-Primary Classes (18 Months to 4 Years)
Children engage with self-directed Montessori materials that foster independence, concentration, coordination, and order. Social interaction and language development are strongly encouraged through daily interactions.
Grade R Programme (Ages 5 to 6)
Our Grade R curriculum seamlessly blends advanced Montessori learning with the CAPS curriculum requirements. This comprehensive approach ensures children build a strong academic foundation while developing the confidence and problem-solving skills needed for a smooth transition to primary school.

It is my privilege to lead a school that has been part of the Dunvegan community since 2003. My vision is to provide a nurturing, boutique preschool where every child feels safe, valued and inspired to learn.
